The 17th International Forum on Educational Technology held in CCNU

The 17th International Forum on Educational Technology (IFET 2018) was held in CCNU from Nov. 17th to 18th. Chen Mingxuan, deputy director of Supervisory Subcommittee of  Educational Technology Teaching in Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Zhao Lingyun, President and Vice Chairman of University Council of CCNU  attended the conference. Scholars from home and abroad gathered on Guizi Mountain to have a discussion upon the research and application of big data and intelligent education and the future of educational reform promoted by artificial intelligence.

At the beginning, Zhao extended a hearty welcome to attendees including experts, scholars teachers and students. He introduced the development of CCNU, the recent goals in the research field of big data in education, and achievements CCNU made in implementing the national strategy of big data, cloud service and artificial intelligence. "This year's Educational Technology Forum focuses on the frontier research and application of big data, and intelligent education in the information era, which covers a wide range of information technology in education. Big data in education marks a milestone for educational informationization entering a new age. It has become powerful means to promote fairness in education, quality of education and educational reforms. We will take it as an opportunity to adopt insights and exchange ideas with academic talents extensively, upon which we can broaden our vision, enhance friendship and make innovations. It is our responsibility to promote all-round modernization of education with informationization and to make new positive contributions to the realization of Chinese education leading world.” Zhao stressed.


Professor Chen Li, Vice President of Beijing Normal University , Professor Robby Robson from Stanford University and other well-known experts and scholars from home and abroad gave 18 keynote speeches on topics such as big data and intelligent education, big data and study analysis, and education informationization, etc. the speeches comprehensively represented the fundamental advances in big data and intelligent education on the background of information technology integrating with education and teaching and the future challenges we are facing. And the doctoral forum on educational technology was held concurrently, where there were displays of papers and posters.


The forum provided a platform for communication between experts and scholars across the country, which was of great significance for the promotion of the development and application of big data and intelligent education and academic communication and collaboration.
